Consultations

Training and referral services adapted to personal needs to build strategies for living independently.

I can provide you with personalized training and referral services through the Regional Center’s Self-Advocacy Goal in your Individual Program Plan (IPP).   First we will define your hopes and dreams, however small or large, and by using the IPP’s Self-Advocacy Goal, so you may work to turn them into reality.  Together, we will develop a plan according to your needs and goals.

This service is provided through your social worker at the Golden Gate Regional Center.

Mia

Mia wished to better communicate with her support staff about what she wanted in her life, to more effectively advocate her individual goals, and to claim her own voice.  After working with COMAAT for 6 months, the board of directors of her supported living services agency, GGRC, asked Mia to become a representative member and create a Consumer Advisory Committee. Mia extended COMAAT’s contract through the GGRC for another six months, and together COMAAT guided Mia in organizing the Consumer Advocacy Committee. Currently, Mia’s committee is going strong with regularly organized speakers that speak about relevant topics to inform the members.
